SERVICE DUCTS: 'PUT-FLEX' TECHNIQUE |
|
A saw cut is made some 100-200 mm around the cover to encompass all deterioration. The existing materials are broken out using light power tools ensuring minimal damage to the sub-base. The manhole frame is reset to correct level using a rapid cure mortar. After thoroughly cleaning and heating the outer edge of the manhole frame and the vertical bituminous surfaces with Klaruw's purpose designed Superjet hot air lance, a hot sealant primer is applied. The void is then filled with a mixture of single size aggregate and flexible sealant. The reinstatement is then compacted with either a vibrating roller or plate. Finally the repair is completed by applying a thin sealing coat on which calcined bauxite is spread.

Uneven manhole covers in bituminous pavements which have subsided due to traffic impact.

Watertight, flexible transition between bituminous pavement and rigid steel manhole covers. Shockabsorbing due to the flexibility of the repair materials. Accommodation of thermal and physical movement. Attenuates impact loads which cause damage and create noise nuisance.

We have been applying the system since 1983.
